Mat-Su Energy Development Center, Renewable Energy Training (Mat-Su)  (pic) Mat-Su Your input may help us create 3200 careers for Alaskans 2009-01-17 5:04AM
We are looking for public comment on the idea of developing a 120 acre business park dedicated to energy related careers for Alaskans. The Mat-Su Borough (Mat-Su Borough website) is where we hope to break ground. Wind turbine, solar power systems, hydro power, geothermal, diesel engine retrofits, gas line career development and arctic energy development will be some of the training available. Energy efficient homes and buildings fitted with renewable energy systems will be on display for the public to visit. The business park itself will have renewable energy systems to offset the heating and electricity bills. Many trainers/educators in the field of energy management will be needed.Basically we feel that if energy related training programs and projects were developed in one location, communications and face to face discussions would be more efficient and help put Alaskas energy needs and marketability on the fast track. Careers in the retrofitting of our energy grid will become available. Our intent with this business park is to create job and career opportunities for people like you and me.Please comment about this idea at http://matsuenergy.blogspot.com/And please visit our website http://www.matsuenergy.com/ Location: Mat-Su Compensation: Your input may help us create 3200 careers for Alaskans This is at a non-profit organization. Live in Nanny / Room (S. Anchorage) S. Anchorage Nanny $500 / Room Value $750 / Only $250 for monthly rental 2009-06-15 3:41PM
I am looking for someone who will live in my house for a reduced rental rate, and in return do an exchange for some limited nanny service. About the children: I have 2 daughters that are 2.5 and 5 yrs old. The 2.5 yr old is in full time day care available from 7 AM – 6 PM. The 5 yr old is also in full time day care right now, but will be starting kindergarten this fall. What I would ideally like is someone who can get the girls ready in the morning and take the 2.5 yr old to daycare, and the 5 yr old to kindergarten at 9:30 AM. That would basically be 2.5 hrs in the morning. I would then like you to pick up the 5 yr old at 3:30 PM when school is out for the day, and be with the girls until 6 PM, with an occasional 7 PM. Tjat os basically 2.5 hrs again in the afternoon. I would expect some simple meal prepartion for the girls, and light housekeeping chores as well. I do not need nanny services during the day. The daycare is across the street, and the elementary school is within a 3 minute walk from the house. I am a single mother and the girls are with their dad 10 days of the month. On those dates I don’t need any nanny services. I only work M-F so I don’t need any assistance on the weekends. If additional services were worked out on an occasion type basis, you would be compensated accordingly. This leaves you most of the day, weekends and evenings free, along with an additional 7-10 days free that the girls are with their dad. There is no driving of the children necessary. The value of these services to me is $500. About my house: The house is located in South Anchorage, Bayshore neighborhood. I have a large 4 level home - of which I ony use 2 levels. (Bedroom level and kitchen / living room) . The room I have available, has a king bed, dresser, nightstand, couch, TV and fireplace in it. Really large room! It is on its ownlevel of the house. The bathroom is upstairs and rarely used. The full private bathroom is on a separate area, but it will be all yours. There is a half bathroom on your level. Shared kitchen w/ me. Clubhouse privileges include pool and gym. No pets, no smoking and female. I am tidy and expect the same. Cable, water, sewer, heat, wireless internet included. The value of this room is $750. Soccer coach (Eagle River) Eagle River $16-22 for lead coach, $10-15 for assistant coach, $7.50-$8.00 for student intern 2009-05-20 6:03AM
Soccer Coach, part-time summer position Recreational soccer club is recruiting for several coaching positions to work with young players who want to learn and play soccer. Lead coach: Runs academy style group instruction of players in our recreational soccer program. Following the Alaska Youth Soccer Association age group practice plans and Club program development model, the lead coach plans and implements practice sessions, and coaches in small-sided games for age groups within U6-U10 divisions. The lead coach works independently but coordinates under supervision of the ERSC Coaching Director and will work with assistant coaches or student interns and parent volunteers. Location is Eagle River/Chugiak community.Qualifications for lead coaches: must be 18 years or older, take the AYSA youth module training (This 4-5 hour training is offered free of charge at several locations & dates.) and must have either soccer playing or previous coaching experience along with enthusiasm for working with young children Compensation is $16.00-$22.00 / hour DOE, and mileage allowance. Assistant coach: Works under the supervision of the lead coach and assists with practices and games. Must be 18 years or older and reliable. AYSA youth module training as described above, and soccer playing experience is desirable. Compensation is $10.00 - $15.00 per hour depending on training and experience, and mileage allowance.Student intern: Works under the supervision of the lead coach and assists with practices and games. Must be 15 years or older and reliable. AYSA youth module training as described above, and soccer playing experience is desirable. Compensation is $7.50 - $10.00 per hour depending on training and experience. The season runs from May 19th through July 22nd in the late afternoon and evenings for two nights per week on either a Monday & Wednesday session, or a Tuesday & Thursday session, or coaches may take two sessions to work all four days Monday through Thursday. Student interns may also work a combination of two nights-a-week session or job share with a partner to assure that all weekly sessions are covered. Although we prefer the two-night a week commitment, we may consider a one-night a week commitment. The activities would likely take place at Ravenwood Elementary School or Alpenglow Elementary School in Eagle River, and a field in Chugiak/Birchwood, and U9-U10 teams will have some games at Russian Jack Park in Anchorage. For these ages the club philosophy follows an informal academy style instruction, an emphasis on individual skill development replacing unnecessary pressure to win at a young age that comes from a focus on game results of wins/losses at the younger age groups. Fun activities follow a progression of skill development for players. Four’s and Five’s: This is an introductory soccer and basic movement skills program. Young children will play to foster large motor skills and foot-eye coordination. A variety of games and activities designed around a soccer ball will be played each week, as well as some that just promote physical activity. Every child gets a ball at their feet. Sessions are 45 minutes long, two times per week. The group size would be between 12 – 16 players.NOTE: for age appropriate activities, more time for this age group is spent on games styled so each player has a soccer ball. A minimum of session time is spent in the “traditional” 3 v 3 small sided game.Ages 6 – 8: These sessions mix skill development with small-sided games (3-on-3 and 4-on-4 coed teams). The program is geared to give kids lots of \"touches\" on the ball. The emphasis is on developing enjoyment of physical activity, individual skill development and the game of soccer. Games are structured for equal and full playing time among players. These teams will play two evenings a week, with Academy instruction, as a combined practice/game session, lasting one hour.
