Lovely newer home within traveling distance to major areas around Portland. Portland is an easy 45 minute commute, while Gorham, Saco, Biddeford, Sanford, and Kennebunk are each 30 minutes in different directions. Rent includes a furnished bedroom with a closet, shared living and kitchen areas, internet access and laundry privileges in new laundry machines. Rent also includes utility costs, thus someone would simply need to furnish their necessities, have their own transportation and purchase their own groceries. This is quiet living. It is rural and in the Lake Arrowhead community. There is access to lakes within walking distance, clubhouses with cardio, pools, courts and weight room privileges, and wooded quiet peaceful living, but the renter would have to want that type of lifestyle as opposed to being in the city. Housemate is looking for a non-smoking, nothing illegal-type housemate who likes cats and can contribute to rent in a timely fashion. We are two adults seeking a quiet but personable person to share our apartment with us. Responsibility a must. The apartment itself is a fairly large 3 bedroom with 1 and 1/2 bath, an open dining/living room, larger than most kitchen, a deck and plenty of on street parking. The bedroom up for rent is on the smaller side, with two small closets and a large window. (comes with an a/c unit if you want to install it) Rent is 320 a month, with heat and hot water included. We currently do not get cable, but will in the winter months. Electric and internet end up being between 50-60 dollars. Security deposit equal to one months rent is required prior to move in. We would prefer someone with a sense of humor, and a good head on thier shoulders. Just because we are roomates doesnt mean we cant be personable etc. We dont like feeling we live with a ghost or someone who locks themselves away, but we also dont want to be up in each others grill at all times. USM area, large unit-two floors and 1 and 3/4 baths. Kitchen, dining room and living room all furnished. This is a two unit owner occupied duplex (up and down not side by side). We, the owners are both professionals in education, live on the first floor. The second and third floors of our duplex make up a very, very large unit. We rent by the room (4 bedrooms all with closets ) and currently will have one opening for a quiet, non-smoking, non-partying person to live with our current tenants beginning July 1, 2010 and two more at the beginning of August. If you are interested we will hold the room with a deposit. We take care of all utilities which include-electric, cable & internet, a cleaning person for all the common areas, heat and water. We do not provide a phone, everyone who lives here has a cell phone. We also have a washer and dryer for tenant use (not coin-op) and a small backyard that you can enjoy with us. We have on-street parking but it is easily obtainable and in the three years we have lived here no one has had any problems. Our home is located a stones throw from USM and is near bus lines. No pets please. Wireless internet that is password protected.We are great property owners. Our tenants have been with us from 3 years to just under six months. Our home is our investment, we like to keep things tidy and up-to-date (matter of fact we have all new windows & electric--plenty of outlets). This is a non-smoking house/property. We compost, recycle and do not party. It is a great space for a serious student or professional. We are all friendly and value privacy as well. We do require an application and a security deposit. I have an eight year old \"fixed\" female cat that goes in and out anytime she wants as I usually leave the door ajar when Im here, (because Ive lived alone).I take care of the customary bills, (-never late), the heating oil for winter months, trash hauling, yardwork, snow removal, etc. The other thing you should know is that Im a young looking 50s, NORMAL, sane, non-violent, intelligent, non-ugly, hardworking kind of guy. Im not some kind of freak or weirdo, HONEST, and Im not the type who needs a mother or a maid! I keep pretty much to myself, meaning that I dont hold parties here, have no kids, or no ex-wife/girlfriends lurking about and causing ANY kinds of trouble. I dont really have much of a social life either, just a jeans and flannel shirt kind of guy. I work the three to eleven shift, (P.M.), five days a week, have most all weekends off, and am open to hearing your concerns or rules. My place is pretty much fully furnished but might be able to squeeze in some of your B.R. furniture and have a tiny bit of space for extra storage. Actually prefer a working, (or steady income), unattached female, (30? to 50-ish?), with no children, who is in need of a better, safer, (or less expensive), quieter, place to live. Ought to have own vehicle and drivers license as there is no bus service nearby. I dont know about you but would prefer a long term arrangement? Im really easy to get along with as well. I love music and art as well and enjoy creating things. The only thing that we require is that there are never any parties in the apartment. We both enjoy intimate get togethers on the smaller side, some wine, pot lucks, that sort of thing but when we go out to party, we do it elsewhere. We also have two cats, Miles and Mirah, so we would like to find a third who doesnt have any pets and isnt allergic. Also we both work early mornings so we ask that you are fairly quiet after about 10pm daily. $330 covers everything but electricity and internet. We do have both gas and electric heat in the winter but it is never that exspensive. Usually the utilities would run about $100 a month and would be split 3 ways. We have a 32\" flatscreen tv in the living room with a Bluray player that has Instant Netflix that you are welcome to use as long as you are carefull as well as my laptop that I leave out for us all to use!! All I ask in that regard is that when I do get home from work that I am allowed acess to both. We would also like for you to have one of the utilities in your name upon move in. The deposit will be in the amount of your first payment apon move in as well which will be fully refunded when you move out. There is a lease that will be signed for the length of one year when you move in but we are both open minded gals so if something came up where you had to leave early and could provide us with a replacement and/or a full months notice we would be open to that. So the total move in cost would be $660 dollars. We would also like for you to have a job and make enough money to cover your bills of course..lol.We are both mature and relaxed girls who would like to find the same in a potential roomate. There is also an art studio in the middle of the apartment where we like to create. There is a wonderfull eisle there and a huge table with paints and canvases as well as a house guitar. We love music and the arts! The best part I think about the whole apartment is this, There are huge pull out skylights throughout the whole space! Including one right above when you put your bed at night! There is also a roof outside the livingroom window that you can smoke and hang out on, absolutely NO smoking in the house and I am very allergic. There is also laundry in the basement and plenty of storage. This is the nicer end of grant and neither of us have run into any problems with neighbors. Sooo yeah! The apartment will be available after the 1st of July, were flexable about move in. Our third roomate is moving out and just wasnt the right fit for the apartment or for us. We would like to find a roomate who is friendly, moderatly clean (not super clean though), down to go out with us on occasion and hit up the town, and available to have roomate related meetings and address problems with us when they come up. Thats it! We like to have fun, enjoy life, and we hope you do too! We dont judge and take the time to get to know people before we form opinions about them.
