 LOMO SF 100 Trinocular Stereo Microscope with Ring Light Illuminator Photo Attachment You are invited to purchase a Lomo SF 100 Trinocular Stereo Microscope equipped with both a projection style illuminator plus a ring light illuminator and power supplies for the illuminators along with a photo adapter and several other accessories described in more detail below making for a nice complete photo visual stereo microscope system This is a high end professional microscope system not a toy and will especially be appreciated by parents homeschooling their children ideal for completing natural science projects or by insect coin stamp mineral or fossil collectors etc for viewing photographing specimens Parallel Path Optical System The stereomicroscope system in this unit is a parallel path optical system that derives its versatility from five 5 pairs of objective lenses mounted in a rotating cylinder called a Galilean Drum This system yields very sharp three dimensional images at magnifications ranging from 3 3x to 100 8x depending on the eyepieces used Trinocular Head Assembly Base The trinocular head assembly of this microscope is mounted on a 14 5 tall adjustable stand and base combination This stand provides an ample 95mm 3 7 working distance between the objective lens and the specimen and is adjustable to accommodate very large specimens To aid in comfort while viewing and manipulating specimens on the stage there are two arm rests that attach to the side of the base Note These look like wings off the side of the base in the accompanying images of the system A plastic cover for the microscope and the base is also included Eyepieces The dual eyepiece holders on the scope are adjustable for varying eye separation which differs for each individual Included with the microscope are two 2 pairs of 1 25 31 75mm fully coated eyepieces One pair of eyepieces has an 8x magnification and the second pair has a magnification of 14x Also included is a third focusing 8x eyepiece that accepts two interchangeable eyepiece reticules One reticule contains a graduated micrometer scale and the other one contains a counting grid The reticules are stored in a plastic case in a slot in a foam container that also is used to store the extra eyepieces Stage Plates Other accessories included with the SF 100 are two interchangeable stage plates that are used to vary the background color in order to provide contrast with the object being viewed One of these plates is a reversible black and white stage plate and the other is a clear glass stage plate for using transmitted light Illuminators Included with this stereomicroscope package are two types of illuminators a projection style lamp unit with transformer and a ring type fiber optic illuminator with its own power supply The projection style illuminator housing has a built in condenser system It can be mounted above the sample for incident light or inserted in the rear of the microscope base for transmitted light The lamp is powered by a 6 volt 20 W 115V external power supply A large adjustable mirror is housed in the microscope base to aid in focusing the transmitted illumination according to the observation needs of the sample Rounding out the accessories for the standard illuminator are two 2 replacement bulbs and a green filter for the standard illuminator The ring light and fiber optic illuminator assembly is a 150 Watt quartz halogen fiber optic system which provides bright shadow free full spectrum illumination at a constant cool temperature The unit is made by Dolan Jenner Industries and it is their Model MI 150 The ring light slips directly over the microscope objective housing and is tightened via a setscrew The accompanying fiber optic illuminator powers the ring light and the intensity of illumination is fully adjustable with a potentiometer on the power supply Photomicrophotography Attachment This microscope is also equipped with a photo microphotography attachment that is installed between the binocular head and the objective lens assembly This unit contains a prism type beam splitter that either directs all of the light to the binocular head or alternately 90 to the camera tube and 10 to the binocular head for simultaneous viewing while capturing images The photo attachment has standard T threads at the top which allows you to attach any standard 35 mm film or digital SLR camera equipped with a standard T mount adapter For photo microphotography the magnification at the image plane depends on what magnification the rotating objective drum is set at The image circle developed by the photo attachment fills a standard 35mm 24 x 36 mm frame and will cover all common digital SLR image sensors which are generally smaller than 24 x 36 mm This same phototube can accept a C mount adapter not included that will enable you to use a CCD video camera with the microscope Incidentally the phototube is also capable of holding an eyepiece via another attachment included which enables two persons to look through the microscope at the same time In fact a third 14X eyepiece is included for this purpose Owners Manuals Finally included with this offering are the owner s manuals for the microscope and the fiber optic illuminator Packing Shipping I managed to save all of the original packing material in which this
