Use CFC bulbs-the dollar stores even sell them cheaper. → Please pull forward at pumps avoids others having driving around, and not just at pumps-anywhere. They even post this on the pumps. Drive the lights to avoid brake slow down stopped traffic. Do you realize when you stop to drop off you MAKE all cars behind you stop also? Park. Allow other drivers out in traffic, keeps them going & not just sitting there idling. Look before you start the car anywhere, if your in a parking lot & cars & people are behind you, cÂ’mon you know youÂ’re not going it clears, why idle? →Recognize when you are wasting gas, every persons needs are different. →DonÂ’t litter. It may not sound like it belongs here, but it does. The litter that is on the highwayÂ’s is picked up two ways, either employees or volunteers DRIVE out there and bag up, leave at roadside then trash crew comes behind and cleans bags. Your litter creates two additional vehicles on the road to clean up. And they need fuel to get there, that if you were not littering would not be happening, every drop drives up the cost and demand. Trash cans are literally everywhere. Gas stations, stores, malls, your house, parks, etcÂ….throw it in a trash can at your next stop. → Highway driving – find a semi going slightly faster than you and stay behind 100-200 yards or so—his tailwind sucks you along saving you gas, & he has radar for speed traps. Win win situation. Remember if you canÂ’t see his mirrors – he canÂ’t see you; donÂ’t tailgate. Turn overnight parked Semis, cars, and trucks off at truckstop/rest areas. → When waiting on a pace car in construction zones or stopped in zones, turn your car off. They have those flaggers for a reason, why idle? Your not getting thru any faster even if you ram the car in front of you! And then your really not. Treat work vehicle the same, donÂ’t take the approach, IÂ’m not paying for the gas so who cares? Oh but you are. Took over 30 minutes (I know that because thatÂ’s how long it took me to walk past) 30 minutes. It ran the whole time?!!!! WHY? And cut warm up times! If you do ½ hour do 15 minutes → When was the last time you saw a UPS truck running during a delivery? I never have. I think maybe they have figured out that the idling costs big time money. And thereÂ’s the theft issue. Me? I wish it was legal to relocate anyoneÂ’s car who does this, just to teach them a lesson. Why do taxis sit idling when waiting on a fare? At hotels in tourist destinations? At airports? Why donÂ’t the cab companies clamp down on this? ItÂ’s income out the door! Rural mail delivery, why not park & walk those 20-40 boxes rather than idle inch by inch? Rental Cars? Turn key off as they inspect for prior damage and show you features. This takes up to 10 minutes, why waste the gas? Why areÂ’nt parking security guards on bikes, golf carts, ATV. They go just as fast thru a lot and places a car cannot and take less fuel? Not to mention cost of vehicle, insurance, plates, and driver. Why do armor trucks idle at pickups? Yet, the delivery companies donÂ’t!!? →Buy local .. anything & everything you can meat market, produce, bakery, save fuel bringing things to you. The only people who should not are shut ins. We utilize that ship to me, that it is not a convenience anymore. ITÂ’S killing us at the gas pump. And take a second to read labels, buy American. Best example: White Rain Shampoo/Condition made in USAÂ….VO5 made in Canada Â…you paid for freight to truck it here, & sent your purchase dollar out of country →Totally skip the plastic bags at the stores, they are made from oil. Taking about 37 million barrels per year! Use cloth or canvas. If you have no choice reuse them all you can. Recycle. → Highway driving – find a semi going slightly faster than you and stay behind 100-200 yards or so—his tailwind sucks you along saving you gas, & he has radar for speed traps. DonÂ’t take spouse/kids/friends anywhere to drop off like mall, library, grocery, store, etc then sit in the parking lot with car on. And donÂ’t circle the lot, Park. →Go right on red all the time, donÂ’t hold up traffic. It is also legal to go LEFT on RED, from a one way street to another one way street with traffic that you merge LEFT into. Mostly in downtown areas. →Is there any value to a toll road? What is it? To go 80-90MPH? –do you need to get there faster? Will 15 minutes make that much difference? ONLY, when you crash on toll road, and then ..to get an EMS to you. → Remember consume all you have, gas does gum up. Keep your car in decent working order, oil change, tires, fluids, etc etc. DonÂ’t buy fuel if you DONÂ’T need it, just because it dropped a cent or two. If itÂ’s dropping, more than likely in 2/3 more days it will be cheaper. Now you know what to do Â… forwardÂ….and use copy paste, links expire. Make a bigger impact. Or get ready for gas at the $4 mark. Look at drive thruÂ’s - in one major city (the one million mark) and youÂ’ll be shocked! Or disgusted! One city has 172 fast food joints between all the top brands.....not including the little guys, local/regional brands OR convenience stores OR pharmacys, OR the tobacco barns (and is it cheaper if you are 19 cars deep ?? Saw that today)- just fast food giants, the Rbs,Taco Hell, MC, BK, lattes; those Â… do the numbers quickly, watch your fast foods drive thrus ... HOW many cars are in the lineup, 3-4-5-6 or more? Use the three Â…3 (cause its a smaller) so 3 X 172 = 516 cars idling in ONE city, now we know there are at least 15 @ million + (seattle,cleveland,detroit,chicago,DC, phoenix,la,vegas,nyc,miami,indy,denver,houston,memphis,orlando,) There are LARGE cities in 50 states, capitals?!? And at least 15 as large as this list; but well stick with small math, 15, so now it is 3 X 172 = 516 X 15 = 7740 cars (what was your tax return this year, was it $7740?) how long do those cars idle in drive thru? I have timed it - it averages 2-7 minutes, NOT counting if your orderÂ’s not ready and your asked to pull around and wait some more. But again, lets go with smaller number ..it is NOT realistic, but itÂ’s comprehendable....so, now at a two minute wait time, 3 X 172 = 516 X 15 = 7740 cars X 2 = 15,480 now divide by 60 minutes in an hour = 258 In one city.....we idle 258 hours a day! Now, how much is your weekly paycheck? Electric bill? Mortgage? Does that give you a perspective? Take a look @ the big picture.... take that 258 X those 50 capitals (between the caps and smaller cities in each it averages out) you get 12,900 hours. OMG! Just for fast food. Not even all of list. THIS IS WHY WE PAY SO MUCH FOR GAS. 12,900 is a good number to “see”, how much did your car cost? How much does a NEW car cost? They have those flaggers for a reason, why idle? Your not getting thru any faster even if you ram the car in front of you! And then your really not. Treat work vehicle the same, donÂ’t take the approach, IÂ’m not paying for the gas so who cares? Oh but you are. You pay with higher prices at pump, on your electric, AND thatÂ’s your next raise your wasting. Construction & OTR trucks that idle, donÂ’t. I watched a dozer cut and load a side dump truck at site. Took over 30 minutes (I know that because thatÂ’s how long it took me to walk past) 30 minutes. It ran the whole time?!!!! WHY? And cut warm up times! If you do ½ hour do 15 minutes →Buy local .. anything & everything you can meat market, produce, bakery, save fuel bringing things to you. The only people who should not are shut ins. We utilize that ship to me, that it is not a convenience anymore. ITÂ’S killing us at the gas pump. And take a second to read labels, buy American. Best example: White Rain Shampoo/Condition made in USAÂ….VO5 made in Canada Â…you paid for freight to truck it here, & sent your purchase dollar out of country →Concerts/plays/venues/fairsÂ….take a bus to just to save, but if you drive – donÂ’t sit in lot before & after with car on listening to radio AND after take your time 1) leaving the site just to get to your car and 2) in lot wait for traffic to clear. Or partying in your car with it on – at least turn it off. → Someone said leave copies at pumpÂ….altho email also, itÂ’s faster & always there. Turn car off when waiting on a funeral procession, rural mail delivery that gets out of car, loading/unloading. I think places that service autos, ie insurance co, dealers, parts warehouse, etc. should keep a copy on their counters. Waiting AT the bus stop on kids? Turn the car off. If you do this 5 times (we know itÂ’s 10) times a week for even 2 minutes a pop – you wasted gas for 20 minutes ONE WEEK. Reality is about an hour a week. DonÂ’t take spouse/kids/friends anywhere to drop off like mall, library, grocery, store, etc then sit in the parking lot with car on. And donÂ’t circle the lot, Park. → Please pull forward at pumps avoids others having driving around, and not just at pumps-anywhere. They even post this on the pumps. Do you realize when you stop to drop off you MAKE all cars behind you stop also? Park. Drive the lights to avoid brake slow down stopped traffic. Allow other drivers out in traffic, keeps them going & not just sitting there idling. Look before you start the car anywhere, if your in a parking lot & cars & people are behind you, cÂ’mon you know youÂ’re not going it clears, why idle? →Keep a copy in your car. And watch when you are doing and others, highlight or check off, look at after three days. Then go OMG! → Read up, and learn about CAFÉ standardsÂ… do you know cars only have to conform to standards from 1980Â’s yet our technology has exceeded? Why? Good reads A Declaration of Energy Independence by Jay Hakes;Energy Victory by Robert Zubrin. Use internet for cheapest fuel–donÂ’t then go there get in line and idle wasting 1/8 tank to get Âľ. Did you see the new GM Chevy Volt? 232 MPG! Why arenÂ’t they all being made that way? Why arenÂ’t we demanding it? On all cars? →Home, Use CFC bulbs-the dollar stores even sell them cheaper. DonÂ’t charge cell phone overnight. ThatÂ’s overcharging..it only needs 1-3 hours. Unplug everything, but fridge stove, water heater and plug in as go; use power strips and unplug those also. → Turn overnight parked Semis, cars, and trucks off at truckstop/rest areas. Highway driving – find a semi going slightly faster than you and stay behind 100-200 yards or so—his tailwind sucks you along saving you gas, & he has radar for speed traps. Win win situation. Remember if you canÂ’t see his mirrors – he canÂ’t see you; donÂ’t tailgate. → Keep your car in decent working order, oil change, tires, fluids, etc etc. Remember consume all you have, gas does gum up. DonÂ’t buy fuel if you DONÂ’T need it, just because it dropped a cent or two. If itÂ’s dropping, more than likely in 2/3 more days it will be cheaper. →DonÂ’t litter. It may not sound like it belongs here, but it does. The litter that is on the highwayÂ’s is picked up two ways, either employees or volunteers DRIVE out there and bag up, leave at roadside then trash crew comes behind and cleans bags. Your litter creates two additional vehicles on the road to clean up. And they need fuel to get there, that if you were not littering would not be happening, every drop drives up the cost and demand. Trash cans are literally everywhere. Gas stations, stores, malls, your house, parks, etcÂ….throw it in a trash can at your next stop. →DonÂ’t forget.. forward this to your email contacts, make a bigger impact, use copy and paste; links expire. Look at ATMÂ’s aloneÂ….Today I used one, it took me 92 seconds. (and I a quick just a withdraw) So, letÂ’s use small numbers say there are 13 million cars on the road in the country everyday. Probably at least once a week all will stop at a bank and most use the ATM. But lets say only 20% stop to use the ATM, so thatÂ’s 2million 6 hundred thousandÂ…and lets say half of those will use the walk up ATM. So, now were down to 1 million 3 hundred thousand that idled for the 1 ½ minute. 1,3 Million X 1.5 = 19,500,000 / by 60 minutes in a hour = 325,000 hours a day spent idling at the ATM. (And remember this is a low number.) Ok, thatÂ’s a really nice house. If you make $20 grand a year, thatÂ’s 16 years! If you make $40 grand a year, thatÂ’s 8 years! If you make $60 grand a year, thatÂ’s 5.4 years! If you make $100 grand a year, thatÂ’s 3 years! ItÂ’s worth it to shut it off. **** Or what about???.... When a police officer stops you Parked Police vehicles EMS/Fire Trucks If your like me, you have a city police dept, a state patrol, a sheriff, a border patrol, a DPS, highway patrol, forest rangers, thatÂ’s 7 agencies issuing citations daily IN JUST ONE CITY. Do you shut your car off when your pulled over? Why not? Really, you going somewhere in that time youÂ’re made to wait? Your getting a ticket and wasting fuel? I asked an officer once on average how many tickets a day? He said if doing job well, about 30. 30 tickets X 7 agencies X how many officers? Per shift. They work 3 shifts. ItÂ’d be hard to get a rough guess, but again small thinkingÂ….lets say in cities ½ to one million pop Â… 15 officers Â…and recently I was stopped for a burnt license lamp, that took 17 minutes, so I would round down to 10 minutes. 30 tickets X 7 agencies X 15 officers X 3 shifts X 10 minutes = 94,500 minutes. / 60 min in hour = 1,575 hours WOW! And we know from earlier there are 34 US cities at this pop so 1,575 X 34 = 53,550 hours spent idling to get a ticket to pay, for your insurance to go up and gas wasted. 53,550 ! What is your annual income? 2231 days 6.11 years And this is low, because we know there is more than 45 officers in a city ½ to one million mark! ItÂ’s more like 450. **** Now on the flip side – mr. police officerÂ…..ok- letÂ’s be fair, itÂ’s time to rag on you. Who pays for the gas in your patrol car? We do. Our taxes. Yours and mine. So, when you sit two cars at roadside facing opposite directions, chit chattingÂ…Â…you are wasting my money and gas! And I see this daily. And no, you are NOT working together. Sometimes I have even walked past it, and heard the conversationsÂ…no, it is not working together. No, it is not back up. And the fire trucks EMS vehicles, ok---this has to be a no-no. I live in one of those ½ to one million mark citiesÂ…..twice a day I see this. The firemen pile into one of these vehicles and go to the park to “work out” play soccer, basketball, exercise, etc. I donÂ’t know about anyone else, but I have issues with this every time I see it. I have no objection to your staying in shape – even for the job. But that is where it ends. If you need to go together, then do a jog. Or invest in a basketball hoop/exercise equipment/exercise videos at the station. But; issue one: donÂ’t take that vehicle that my taxes and taxes for gas pay for and your salary, and take it as your transportation. Issue two: what IF that vehicle is needed while you are gone? Issue three: what if another driver on road runs into that vehicle when you do that? Issue four: what if that vehicle breaks down while your out? And thereÂ’s a actual emergency where your needed? I know how many of you work the 24-48-72 hours on duty, then offÂ….that is the choice YOU made. Certainly one of two of your own personal vehicles should be used for this. And you would all fit. | |||

| We do not have time for our pekingese puppy. He is registered. He is white with sable markings, I think they call it a Parti colored. He is pee pad trained. He is up to date on his shots. He has been around kids and cats ( though our cat despises him). He has been eating Eukanuba small breed puppy food. He loves his kong toys and stuffed toys. | 9 month old male Shih-Tuz Puppy; soft black and white fur; does not shed; weighs about 12 pounds and stands about 18in tall; loves kids; likes other dogs; and plays well with our cat; puppy is house trained but you must take him out on a schedule; he hasnt learned to go to the door on his own yet; should be created over night or when left alone; loves to ride in the car and is an excellent lap dog but is very playful also..he is purebred and we have the registration for his ACK papers but have not sent off for them; up to date on shots; needs a good home; we got him a couple months ago but we have to move unexpectedly and cant find an a place where we can keep him(or the kitten if your interested) He was an expensive dog but we only ask an acceptable donation($200) to cover only a fraction of what we spent.
