The neighborhood is filled with nice houses that all seem to have a vintage Seattle suburban style (Craftsmans, etc.) Were a short walk to Greenlake, several restaurants, bars and shops, and were just a hop away from I-5. The house is less than a block from the 26 bus-route, and about 4 blocks from the 16. The rent is $450 and we pay electricity, water and cable (internet). If you dont want cable or internet we can talk about that. It is a two bedroom apartment. The rent is $975 and I pay $525. One room is bigger than the other and has its own bathroom and there is only one parking space in the garage, but plenty of street parking. I have been paying more since I am in the bigger room and using the garage, but that is negotiable. There is another bathroom which would be mostly the other persons, but as it is nearer the living room, it does get sometimes used by roommate and guests. We have a balcony with sliding doors, wood burning fireplace, washer and dryer, intercom entry and decent sized kitchen with lots of counter space and dishwasher. The apartment complex is fairly quite and the landlords are usually responsive to needs. I dont have a ton of furniture, so if you have some that could work. You will need to fill out an application and pass a credit check. You dont have to have amazingly wonderful credit, but not be a total deadbeat. I did originally pay a deposit but we can talk about paying that down the road. I dont remember it being a huge amount but I can find out and we can do a payment plan if needed.I am female, in my thirties, with two kitties (I wouldnt mind more pets but apartment only allows for two), I work full time on the East side during the week. I am mostly veggie and try to be green as much as possible. I am liberal, eclectic, philosophically Buddhist, artsy, laid back, silly, generally happy, and open minded. I dont drink or smoke but I am by no means a square. Did plenty of partying in my day, but now into getting healthy. I tend to be a home body and unfortunately, watch probably more TV than I should. My cats are incredibly friendly and sweet. They are relatively hypo-allergenic as they are Persians and dont groom themselves so much (as I do that for them mostly).I am looking for someone with similar leanings (at least when it comes to saving energy, composting and recycling). I would love to find someone veggie, but am not against meat eaters. Please read my posting before you call.I am a former Boeing machinist. I want to share my house. A private residence.This is a non smoking house for non smokers only. Outside smoking does not work here. Chewing tobacco is ok.Right now there is only 3 people living in the house. Me the owner, I have an Englishman on my top floor. I have newer lady on my middle floor.I want to rent my basement room out. The bedroom is pretty nice. It measures 10.5 x 19. It is furnished with a nice queen sized bed, nice desk, nice dresser, phone jack, keys to your room etc..There is a large window allowing natural light to enter. This bedroom has very nice pine wood work all over. Outside the bedroom there is a smaller front room. ( About 12 x 12 ). In the smaller front room there is a high end microwave oven, a toaster and a newer 10 cubic foot refrigerator. Sorry,there is no stove /range for you to use in this house. Stove/range fires are a leading cause of residential fires. This smaller front room also has nice pine wood work all over. Off to the side and back is your own personal bathroom and laundry rooms.The bathroom and laundry rooms are not as fancy as the bedroom and the smaller front room. They have more of a \"utility feel\" to them. In the laundry room there is a full size washer and a mini dryer.Microwave ovens are great! They have come along ways in recent years. Just like cell phones and high definition TVs. I am all ways preparing fresh salmon and farmed trout in my microwave. The microwave ovens they have now days are second to none in cooking frozen vegetables. Do you enjoy rice, prime rib, eggs for breakfast ect..? Microwaves deliver! I have gobs of Pyrex dishes you can use. Microwave ovens are also better on the environment. Because they use electricity more efficiently.The basement has a direct door to the outside. Directly outside the basement is the covered patio and fenced in yard area. This would be primarily your area. This would be perfect for mans best friend. Because there is a nice insulated dog house right there. A goat or chicken is possible.Cat?I have had reasonably good luck with woman cat owners in this house. As long as they have just one cat. When a woman cat owner calls me. My antennas kind of go up. I have noticed for a while now that woman cat owner tend to stay here a little longer term. I have a real nice cat condo ( tree ) stored away. You can use it if you want.If you are a 100% bus person. You know how heavy cat litter can be on the bus. I am the type of guy that would go to the store and pick stuff like that up for you. ( At no charge ). However , I am not pushy.Who ever rents this basement room is going to have more personal space. Because it is in a more separated section of the house. It has its own private entrance. You will be the only one in the basement. The bathroom and laundry room will be for you only.This basement room is for 1 person only. Minimal company, no over night guest format. Especially if you are new and have no track record .I have a pretty good household security policy here that also benefits privacy. I am not comfortable with people being in the house or in the back yard if they do not live here. Feel free to meet your friends or family at the street any time you want. ( Not a problem ). A student is possible. 3 years ago I had good luck with a guy that was a Bellevue Community College student in this basement room.Its kind of hard sharing your house.I get quite a few calls from all over.There is no sense of urgency to get someone in here. The fit has to be right.If you are interested. I might be able to compensate you for some yard and house work around my place. $450.00 or $490.00 per month. I do not do month to month here. I generally try to get someone on a 4 to 6 month committment. Then we kind of see how it goes. I might be a ble to do a \" 2 months only\" or a \" 3 months only\" deal for the right person.
